Supercute Animal-themed treasury!

I'm in this new treasury, and I'm loving the animal theme :) So many cuties! I especially adore the zebra card. I love art with that much detail. The argyle unicorn shirt is pretty awesome too, but unfortunately it totally won't fit me!

I'm in a treasury!

This is such a lovely treasury by pinkberryboutique, and I am just super excited to be in it! Of course I adore the color pink and almost anything pink, so just looking at this treasury makes me smile. Take a look! I love Valentine's day.

Valentines day cards & prints

Just painted & listed on etsy! This was really fun to make, in fact it was one of those paintings that I didn't really think about much as I was working on it, it started painting itself (yay, less work for me!). Anyway, I know Valentines' day is coming up quickly, and I thought that birds were appropriate because they're one of the few animals that often stay together forever. Awww <3. Don't dolphins also stay together? I can't remember, but if so, then perhaps dolphin valentines cards will be in order!

Anyway, you can click on either picture to take you to the etsy link.

Updated this print

2 posts ago or so, I did a post about this print.. but then I decided there were a bunch of things I didn't like about it, and I changed it a lot. But if you prefer the old one, it's still there in my store, just click on the 3rd photo & you can specify that you want that version. :)

I've been tagged!!

I've been tagged for this twice, by both Waterstone Jewelry and Softpencil, so I have to do it! So, here are my 7 random facts about me.

1. I'm obsessed with the old west. I can't explain it, but I often go to the Gene Autry museum, look at the displays, and sigh to myself wishing I could be alive then. I love Deadwood, Brisco County Jr., just about all the classic old west movies, and Dust, which is a video game that came out when I was a kid. Kinda outdated now, but... sigh. I wish I could just visit, at least for a little while!? Also, my bathroom is old west apothecary themed. It may sound strange, but actually it is just awesome. :)

2. I work at a local LA newspaper and get to do graphic design all day and I love it. It sorta feels like I should be paying them!

3. I am powered by the sun! If the sun's gone, I'm the laziest person ever. And I'm not as happy as is necessary for me, either. A true California girl!

4. I play computer games too much. Especially warcraft. I have a level 73 feral druid (yeahhh, not 80 yet, but what can I do? I also have a job.) she's been feral since the first spec point I had, at level 10 (I'm an animal lover)! My other favorite games are Katamari, Animal Crossing, Okami, Dust, and Fallout 1 & 2 (Have not yet played 3 because it doesn't run on my mac.. keeping my fingers crossed, though).

5. I'm a sleepy person. I could sleep all day if I allowed it, and I somehow both love and hate sleeping in. I love it because it's so comfy, but I hate to miss the beautiful morning.

6. One of my favorite things to do (besides painting, design, and reading) is travel! I recently visited Japan and China with my family (slideshow is here) and took about 2,000 pictures (they're not all in the slideshow, don't worry.) Just as much as I love to travel, I absolutely hate to forget things I saw while I was there! I've been to lots of places: Japan, China, Iceland, Ireland, Finland, England, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Tunisia, Malta, Canada, Mexico and more.

7. I'm font obsessed. I have thousands already, and I can't stop downloading them! I'm also slowly teaching my boyfriend about the ones we see everywhere: Helvetica, Copperplate, Rosewood Fill, Brothers, Futura, and others. He's getting good at recognizing them now!

My turn to tag this time!:
1. 365letters
2. christys-critters
3. wanderingnancy
4. flaxandspindle
5. ootycoil
6. motifdesigns
7. dutchfotos

Here are the rules:
* Link to the person who tagged you
* Post the rules on your blog
* Write 7 random things about yourself
* Tag 7 people at the end of your post and link to them
* Let each person know they've been tagged

New Print: "The Newest and Oldest"

I'd been meaning to put this print in my etsy store for so long that I've named it "The Newest and Oldest." Well, that and because it's a visual mixup of new and old, nature and industrial, steampunk and cute, and probably many more opposites. It's along the same lines as my portfolio website.

Anyway, I finally had the time and inclination to update it so that it could fit onto a regular sized print, and I added some stuff, and am happy now. I hope you like it :)

JustinRichel's fine art prints

Suffice it to say, I LOVE JustinRichel's work. I do happen to be a total history lover (though I've never been particularly good at history or remembering dates, I spend way too much time wishing I could time travel and see for myself, or watching historical fiction tv shows and still wishing I could time travel, etc...) and I adore these historically inspired prints that have a sense of humor all their own. The neopolitan abe, for example, is hilarious, unique, and just lovely. The prints blend past with present, creating a multitude of different interpretations. And as for the stack of birds print though, I am speechless other than to say, I want one! He also has another shop for his Amazing Talking Paintings which are also definitely worth checking out.

New Vintage Inspired Technical Drawing print

New print in etsy shop! I have been sorta behind in creating new work lately, so I'm happy to finally have had some time to work.

This is "The Eye," a vintage-inspired technical illustration print. I love anything detailed and technical, and I created this print in photoshop over the course approximately 6 hours so you'll be getting an extremely refined, accurate print. This print would go wonderfully with any steampunk decor as well. I hope you enjoy it!
